<image:caption>I've always known I wanted to be an artist. According to my mom, I drew my first "perfect" face at 2 years old. Any free time I have is spent creating, whether it be drawing, painting, writing, or playing the violin. Over the past four years, I've really tried to focus on my craft and find my niche. Realism is currently my favorite art style and I have been discovering new techniques to perfect it everyday. Although art is traditionally a very independent hobby, when artists share their creativity with the world, it makes me and countless others feel a sense of unity. This is most likely why I have always dreamt of attending RISD and being surrounded by so many other talented artists.</image:caption>

Soon music became my entertainment, as well as my whole identity. I started performing at recitals at age seven. Though piano had its struggles, I eventually went on to play saxophone at age 10, cello at age 12, singing at 14, and guitar at 16. I am currently working on performing music, as well as writing my own. I have future plans on recording, and adding the organ to my musical repertoire for work.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Sam is a conductor, pianist, and composer born and raised in Rhode Island. His conducting pursuits have spanned the orchestral (e.g. Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4), choral (Rachmaninoff's All-Night Vigil), theatrical (Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along), and combined (Mozart's Requiem) worlds, and have taken him around the globe, from Rhode Island to Connecticut to Austria to Ukraine to South Africa. As a pianist, Sam grew up playing chamber music around Rhode Island and at Interlochen Center for the Arts. He developed a deep passion not only for the chamber repertoire, but also for collaboration with other musicians. Sam sees Aurora as an opportunity not only to make the chamber program experience more engaging and rewarding for its musicians, but also to expand the definition of "concert" and to reach people all across the state and southern New England. Beyond artistic direction and management of the organization, Sam also participates in Aurora events as a pianist, composer, and arranger. Sam holds degrees in music and mathematics from Yale University. His passions and hobbies include photography, learning languages, and sailing. There is a 100% chance that he is listening to Mahler right now. Learn more at samhollister.com.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I first started singing when I was about seven. I would walk around the house singing, and my mother said, “We should put you in voice lessons so maybe you can do something with it.” After my first lesson, my teacher decided that it would be best for me to be trained classically as a soprano. Then, as I got older, I steered away from classical and moved into theater. I have been in theatre since I was twelve and I left my classical training. I also did theatre all throughout high school and I started training classically again with a different voice teacher. I got the incredible opportunity to play parts like Laurey Williams in Oklahoma! and Belle in Beauty and the Beast. I also play the violin and have played since I was six. I played with the Rhode Island Youth Philharmonic for 10 years as a first/second violinist. I played through high school as well as a first violinist and concertmaster my last two years. After graduating from North Kingstown High School, I have gone on to study at the University of Rhode Island in pursuit of a B.O.M in Vocal Performance. I will hopefully be adding a theatre minor in the future.</image:caption>

I’ve started teaching myself how to play the cello as well. I love playing my instruments and spend a lot of time practicing in my room. I’m originally from Wisconsin, but moved to Rhode Island in eighth grade. When I’m not hiding in my room playing viola you can find me reading a good book. <image:caption>Sam is a conductor, pianist, and composer born and raised in Rhode Island. His conducting pursuits have spanned the orchestral (e.g. Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4), choral (Rachmaninoff's All-Night Vigil), theatrical (Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along), and combined (Mozart's Requiem) worlds, and have taken him around the globe, from Rhode Island to Austria to Ukraine to Bulgaria to South Africa.

<image:caption>Vickie Gardiner is an undergraduate student at the University of Rhode Island College of Business majoring in marketing. Vickie has developed a reputation for encouraging collaboration, with the belief that it helps individuals become the best versions of themselves. Looking past the numbers, she believes in the power of people, and that the individuals who comprise an organization are the primary determinants of its success. Vickie will receive her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in May 2019. Vickie has been around music her entire life. Being an identical twin, she had a duet partner from the day she was born! Vickie played clarinet in concert band and chamber ensemble from middle school through her undergraduate college career. During this time, she also performed as a soloist and in smaller clarinet ensembles, and later returned to her high school as a mentor for student clarinetists. Outside of her musical hobbies, Vickie is a master at dogspotting and will immediately inform those around her if a dog is present. Loudly.</image:caption>

<image:caption>All of our musicians play together in community settings such as libraries, churches, galleries, senior centers, and retirement homes. Rather than bring concertgoers to a single venue, our concerts bring unique, inspiring events directly to the community.</image:caption>
